As development partner we support
you at the implementaon and
portaon of CIP Safety, at the
development of safety applicaons
and safety hardware as well as at
the cercaon. At this, you can
benet from our comprehensive
CIP Safety know-how and our
competence in the development of
safety hardware and soware.
CIP Safety Protocol Stack
The CIP Safety protocol soware, developed by IXXAT on
behalf of SI and a consorum of companies, allows the
implementaon of CIP Safety targets (slaves) and CIP Safety
originator (master) devices based on sercos or EtherNet/IP.
The soware is operang system independent (runs with
and without an operang system) and can be implemented
on various microcontroller systems.
For the development of customized CIP Safety
target and originator devices (Master/Slave)
CAN INTERFACES AND GATEWAYS
The IXXAT CIP Safety protocol soware enables the easy development
of safe applicaons based on EtherNet/IP or sercos up to SIL-3
according to DIN EN 61508:2010 and is already pre-cered by TÜV
Rheinland.
By using this standardized safety protocol soware package
development costs and investment risks can be signicantly reduced.
The soware package consists of the protocol soware in ANSI-C, a
safety manual and unit tests, enabling the easy re-cercaon aer
the customer-specic implementaon.
Geng started with the CIP Safety technology is simplied by the
included PC demo, showing the capabilies and operaon of a target
and originator device.
Features
Operang system independent - Runs with and without an
operang system
Supports CIP Safety on EtherNet/IP and Sercos
Support of mulple CIP Safety instances
Designed according to IEC 61508 for applicaons
up to SIL-3 with support of redundant processor architectures
Interfaces enable easy porng to dierent hardware and
soware plaorms
Simplied integraon and re-cercaon on any target systems
via included unit test suites and Safety Manual
TÜV pre-cercaon and included unit tests simplify the
required recercaon aer porng to the safe target plaorm
signicantly
Suitable for dierent processor architectures and families with
Lile and Big Endian support, such as TMS320, ColdFire and ARM
Also precered by ODVA CIP Safety conformance test
Also Available
DeviceNet Slave
Protocol stack
The DeviceNet Slave Protocol
Soware allows an easy and
quick development of DeviceNet
devices. All communicaon
mechanisms dened in the
DeviceNet Specicaon are
supported, allowing the
developer to concentrate
enrely on the actual
applicaon.
The DeviceNet Slave Protocol
soware is delivered as C source
code.

Typical problems which occur during the operaon of CAN bus
systems, such as node failures, faults in the communicaon or
complete standsll of the plant, oen have their origins in the physical
bus characteriscs. The CAN-Bus-Tester 2 provides an overview of
the signal condions on the bus, which helps to locate and recfy
frequently occurring error causes instantly.
During the installaon phase of CAN bus plants the integrated wiring
test is especially useful. It is possible to check the bus wiring by using
dierent measurement methods and thus the transfer properes are
ensured. You can also perform comparing measurements directly on
the running plant over its lifeme and thus prevent standslls.
