CIP Safety Protocol Stack
The CIP Safety protocol soware, developed by IXXAT on
behalf of SI and a consorum of companies, allows the
implementaon of CIP Safety targets (slaves) and CIP Safety
originator (master) devices based on sercos or EtherNet/IP.
The soware is operang system independent (runs with
and without an operang system) and can be implemented
on various microcontroller systems.

CAN INTERFACES AND GATEWAYS
The IXXAT CIP Safety protocol soware enables the easy development
of safe applicaons based on EtherNet/IP or sercos up to SIL-3
according to DIN EN 61508:2010 and is already pre-cered by TÜV
Rheinland.
By using this standardized safety protocol soware package
development costs and investment risks can be signicantly reduced.
The soware package consists of the protocol soware in ANSI-C, a
safety manual and unit tests, enabling the easy re-cercaon aer
the customer-specic implementaon.
Geng started with the CIP Safety technology is simplied by the
included PC demo, showing the capabilies and operaon of a target
and originator device.

Typical problems which occur during the operaon of CAN bus
systems, such as node failures, faults in the communicaon or
complete standsll of the plant, oen have their origins in the physical
bus characteriscs. The CAN-Bus-Tester 2 provides an overview of
the signal condions on the bus, which helps to locate and recfy
frequently occurring error causes instantly.
During the installaon phase of CAN bus plants the integrated wiring
test is especially useful. It is possible to check the bus wiring by using
dierent measurement methods and thus the transfer properes are
ensured. You can also perform comparing measurements directly on
the running plant over its lifeme and thus prevent standslls.
