Anybus X-gateway PROFIBUS Master to
ControlNet, DeviceNet and EtherNet/IP
This Anybus X-gateway is a bridge between a PROFIBUS network and
a Rockwell Automaon PLC system with ControlNet, DeviceNet or
EtherNet/IP.
The X-gateway copies cyclic I/O data in both direcons enabling data
exchange between networks. This ensures a consistent informaon ow
throughout the enre plant.

Automation PLC system
The Anybus X-gateway Modbus-TCP series are bridges
between a Modbus-TCP network and a Rockwell Automaon
PLC system with ControlNet, DeviceNet or EtherNet/IP.
The X-gateway copies cyclic I/O data in both direcons
enabling data exchange between networks. This ensures a
consistent informaon ow throughout the enre plant.

Conguration
Conguraon is made over
Ethernet via a built-in web page.
It is used to congure Ethernet
TCP/IP sengs, Modbus-TCP client
conguraon and I/O data register
mapping between Modbus-TCP
and the chosen CIP network.
Tech tip
The X-gateway is equipped with an
SD memory card slot for Easy
Replacement™, conguraon copy
and backup.
If required, eld replacement
can be made by simply moving
the memory card — without
connecng a PC and with no
specialist help.

The X-gateway consists of two communicaon interfaces.
The rst interface provides Modbus-TCP Client (Master) funconality
controlling up to 126 Modbus-TCP Slaves. The second interface
provides ControlNet, DeviceNet or EtherNet/IP Adapter funconality.

networks

PROFIBUS conguraon is dened
with NetTool-PB, a Windows
based conguraon soware for
PROFIBUS. HMS NetTool-PB is
included free of charge with all CIP
versions using a PROFIBUS Master.

The X-gateway is equipped with a
powerful PROFIBUS DP-V1 Master
interface. No addional PROFIBUS
PLC or soware is required.
